What's an American Standard Customer Care Dealer?

American Standard does not make every installer a Customer Care Dealer. The title is reserved for independent dealers with a proven record on product knowledge and service, and it is checked against real homeowner feedback. For you, that means a system chosen for the house you have, factory-trained installation, and a dealer who can register the warranty and stand between you and the manufacturer if something goes wrong.

Why We Carry American Standard?

American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning has spent more than a century chasing a simple idea: build it to a higher standard. For us, that translates into equipment we are comfortable putting in our neighbors’ homes.

Here is what homeowners notice after the install:

Whole-home comfort through the ducts you already have. One thermostat, even airflow, and no wall-mounted heads in every bedroom unless you want them.

A lineup that matches real budgets. Silver-level systems cover the essentials. Gold and Platinum (including AccuComfort® variable-speed models) add quieter operation, tighter temperature control, and higher efficiency.

Heat pumps that work in our climate. Modern American Standard heat pumps are a strong fit for Puget Sound, especially when you want to cool in summer and heat efficiently the rest of the year.

Quiet, steady operation on the higher-end models. Variable-speed compressors and indoor blowers do not slam on and off. That means fewer hot-and-cold swings and better humidity control on sticky weeks.

A brand that stands behind registered equipment. When the system is registered on time, homeowners typically receive a longer limited parts warranty than the base coverage. We handle registration guidance as part of the install.

AC Installation Customer Review & Testimonial

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

"Our old AC died during an Everett heatwave, so we called Better Air NW on a neighbor’s tip. They were upfront and swapped our R-410A unit for an energy-efficient R-454B system in 7 hours. Ryan and Cody fixed some ducting, cleaned up perfectly, and explained how the SEER2 rating cuts costs—our bill’s already down $40. Honest, solid AC installation work. 5 stars!" – David M.

American Standard Equipment We Install:

🔹 Air conditioners — reliable central cooling matched to your furnace or air handler. Newer models use lower-GWP refrigerants such as R-454B, in line with current federal rules.

🔹 Heat pumps — year-round heating and cooling through your existing ducts. A smart upgrade when the AC is due and you want to cut heating costs too.

🔹 Furnaces — efficient gas heat for homes that want to keep a furnace, or pair one with a heat pump in a dual-fuel setup.

🔹 Air handlers and coils — the indoor half of the system, sized so the outdoor unit is not working against a mismatched coil.

🔹 Indoor air quality add-ons — better filtration and cleaner air moving through the same duct system. A natural fit if allergies or wildfire smoke have been on your mind.

Need comfort in a room that ducts cannot reach? American Standard partners with Mitsubishi Electric for ductless mini-splits. We carry both, so you can mix a ducted American Standard system for the main house with Mitsubishi heads for an ADU, shop, or bonus room.

What A Replacement Looks Like With Better Air NW:

Replacing a furnace or AC should not feel like a mystery project.

  1. We evaluate the home — square footage, duct condition, electrical, gas line, and how you actually use the rooms.

  2. We right-size the equipment. A unit that is too large wastes money and shortens its own life. A unit that is too small never catches up on a hot afternoon.

  3. We quote in writing, with options. Good, better, and best — so you can see what you are paying for.

  4. We install, test, and walk you through filters, thermostats, and warranty registration.

Most straight replacements are done in a day. Jobs that include duct repairs, a fuel switch, or electrical work take longer. You will know that before we start.

Warranty, in plain English

American Standard limited warranties cover parts for manufacturer defects. Labor is separate unless you add an extended plan.

If the equipment is registered within the manufacturer’s window (typically 60 days after installation), coverage is usually longer — commonly 10 years on parts, with a longer compressor term on select models. Unregistered equipment falls back to a shorter base warranty.

Factors Affecting AC Installation Cost
Type of System (Central Air Conditioning Unit, Ductless, etc.)

The type of air conditioner system you choose can significantly impact the installation cost. Central air conditioning units are the most common type of AC system and can range in price from $3,000 to $10,000 or more, depending on the size and complexity of the system. Ductless AC systems, on the other hand, are more expensive to install, with prices ranging from $5,500 to $10,000 or more. Heat pumps are another option, with installation costs ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 or more. Replacing an outdated system usually has lower installation costs compared to installing an AC for the first time. It’s essential to consider your home’s specific cooling needs and budget when selecting an AC system.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • New central systems use updated refrigerants such as R-454B. That is the industry moving to a lower global-warming option — not a sales gimmick.

  • If your AC or heat pump still uses older R-410A, we can keep servicing it. When it is time to replace, we will put you on current equipment.

  • Rebates and tax credits change. Qualifying heat pumps and high-efficiency systems often have incentives. We will point you to what is current when we quote.

  • Is American Standard the same as Trane?

They are sister brands under the same parent company and share a lot of engineering. The cabinets, features, and dealer network differ. We chose American Standard because it gives our customers proven equipment at a fair value.

  • How long does an American Standard system last?

With regular maintenance, a well-installed furnace, AC, or heat pump often runs 15 years or more. Maintenance is the difference between “it should last” and “it actually did.”

  • Do I need new ducts?

Not always. If the ducts are the right size and in decent shape, we reuse them. If they are leaky, crushed, or undersized, fixing that matters as much as the new equipment. We will say so up front.

  • Can I add air conditioning to a furnace-only house?

Yes. A matching American Standard AC or heat pump and coil is a very common upgrade here, especially as summers have gotten warmer.

  • What about mini-splits?

For ductless, we install Mitsubishi — the same brand American Standard partners with for mini-splits. Visit our Mitsubishi Electric page to see if that route fits better.
